We are also pleased to introduce two new members of our athletic support team. Mr. Harold Dietrich, our FFA Advisor, recently received an Honorary FFA Degree at the State Convention in State College, as nominated by four area high schools for his outstanding dedication.

Thanks to his guidance, seven students earned FFA Degrees this year, including Brynlee Balliett, who was named the Eastern Regional Star in Agricultural Placement!

In addition:

- Sophia Carrera placed 5th in the Berks County FFA Senior Prepared Public Speaking LDE with her speech titled “Food Waste”, and placed 2nd in the Employment Skills LDE.

- Tristan Lieb placed 1st in Berks County and 3rd overall in the Eastern Regional Forestry CDE.

- Naomi Anderson proudly represented TVSD in the FFA Creed Speaking LDE at the Berks County FFA competition.

These achievements are just a glimpse into the incredible impact Mr. Dietrich has on our students and program. Congratulations on this well-deserved honor.

#ThrowbackThursday: Remember the students of Elverson Grammar School from our previous post? Here they are in 1914! This class was the first to graduate after the school’s major expansion. Just two years after that 1912 photo, these students were learning in the newly added classrooms that marked a turning point for the growing district. The original school, established in 1873, was a one-room schoolhouse serving all eight grades. As enrollment increased, the school board approved an expansion in 1913. By 1914, a two-room addition was completed, one room for grades 1–4, and the other for grades 5–8.

#RaiderRecognition: Robeson Elementary Center would like to recognize three outstanding substitute teachers: Maegan Leone, Pam Russell, and Liz Limper. Mrs. Russell recently retired as a classroom teacher but has since returned to serve as a substitute. Mrs. Leone and Mrs. Limper both began their careers at REC as learning support aides before transitioning into teaching roles. These dedicated individuals provided consistent substitute support at REC throughout the 2024–2025 school year, bringing continuity and stability to their classrooms. Their presence was genuinely valued by students and staff alike!

School’s out, but the celebrations aren’t over! While summer break is here, we’re not done spotlighting the incredible moments that made this school year so memorable. All summer long, we’ll be sharing highlights that showcase the success, creativity, and spirit of our Twin Valley students and staff. First up: Congratulations to Kendra Houser, a Twin Valley High School student who earned 1st place overall for Berks County in the Southeastern PA Tobacco Control Project's Vape-Free Meme Contest! Kendra’s standout meme not only earned her a $50 gift card, but also made a powerful impact by helping raise awareness about the dangers of vaping and nicotine use among youth. Her message supports the project’s mission to educate, advocate, and protect young people from harmful industry influence. Check out her winning entry below!

#FeatureFriday: Twin Valley Middle School’s 8th graders wrapped up the year with a burst of color and creativity. In preparation for their Knoebels field trip, the Class of 2029 tie-dyed custom t-shirts: each one as unique as the student who made it. More than just keepsakes, the shirts reflect the memories they've shared and the exciting new chapter ahead as they head into high school.

#ThrowbackThursday: As graduation season wraps up, we’re taking a moment to honor the legacy of our school district, built on more than a century of learning and growth. Pictured here are students of Elverson Grammar School, circa 1912. The original school, established in 1873, was a one-room schoolhouse that served all eight grades. As enrollment grew, the school board approved an expansion in 1913. By 1914, a two-room addition was completed with one room for grades 1–4, and the other for grades 5–8. It’s incredible to look back and see how far we’ve come, from a single room to a thriving district. Here's to the journey!
