What an incredible morning of celebration on Friday, October 16th when students participated in the Race for Education finale. It was a beautiful Fall morning for our 3rd and 4th graders to run a mile race behind the school and all grade levels to have fun walking through the Whispering Pines neighborhood together. REC families not only reached the school wide goal, they had another record breaking year raising over $26,000 for our school. The past three weeks have been so exciting as students asked for donations from family and friends living throughout the United States as they earned prizes and reached their fundraising goals. Classrooms loved finding out who was going to being presented the coveted Golden Sneaker each day. As the school reached each goal, the students enjoyed ice pops at lunch, a visit from the Kona Ice Truck, and an assembly that students got to see the PTO parents, teachers, and their principal get slimed.
