Congratulations to the Twin Valley High School Marching Band! This past weekend, the band earned 1st place at the Cavalcade of Bands competition. They’ve had an incredible season so far, earning top placements at multiple events and currently holding 2nd place in their division of 18 bands—just .35 points from the top spot.
The marching band will present their final run-through of the season this Saturday at 12:15 p.m. in the high school stadium. Come out and cheer them on as they prepare for Championships!

#FeatureFriday: The Twin Valley High School Leo Club volunteered at the Honey Brook Food Pantry this past week, assisting with the pantry’s largest distribution of the year and serving 219 families. The students also collected and delivered soup can donations to support the cause. Thank you, Leos, for your continued commitment to service and community!

Congratulations to Twin Valley Elementary Center on being awarded a $2,400 grant from the American Heart Association! These funds, made possible through TVEC’s participation in the annual Kids Heart Challenge, will support a new staff wellness initiative focused on strengthening physical, mental, and emotional health.
TVEC Faculty member, Heather McHugh, shared “My goal in writing this grant was to try to do something about the high rates of teacher burn out. In my research for writing this grant, I learned that K-12 teachers have the highest burn out rate of any other profession. As someone who is passionate about health and fitness, I know how impactful morning exercise can be. Morning exercise is shown to increase your energy and productivity throughout the day, improve your mood, reduce your stress levels and much more.”
As a result, TVEC staff are now offered monthly, before-school wellness sessions, thanks to partnerships with local providers Kyle Myer’s Fitness and Solstice Yoga, owned by Twin Valley graduate Kayla Wallace. This initiative reflects a continuous commitment to supporting educator wellness and nurturing a healthy and energized school community. Way to go, TVEC!

Twin Valley High School students were honored at the Berks Business Education Coalition (BBEC) Annual Summit this morning. Hosted at the DoubleTree Hilton in Reading, this annual event brings together leaders in business and education to strengthen the future workforce of Berks County.
Emma McNamee, a TVHS senior, was recognized for her exceptional internship experience. Emma interned at Carol Forell Accounting last year and is currently with Alvernia University’s O'Pake Institute, where she also completed their competitive summer internship program.
Jaiden Belser, a TVHS and BCTC student, was celebrated for his outstanding performance during his welding internship at Spanco Inc. His dedication and skill stood out in a highly technical field.

October is Fire Prevention Month! Throughout the week, our elementary students learned valuable lessons about fire safety thanks to visits and presentations from our incredible local fire companies.

At Robeson Elementary Center, the Friendship Fire Company shared important fire safety tips and demonstrated how firefighters protect and serve our community.
And at Twin Valley Elementary Center, first graders toured the Twin Valley Fire Department, exploring the station and learning from the dedicated volunteers who keep us safe.

Twin Valley Middle School welcomed the Class of 2031 with a fun and memorable 6th Grade Social last week.
Students had the chance to connect with new classmates, enjoy games and activities, and kick off their middle school journey in a positive way. It was a great start to the year, full of energy and excitement for what’s ahead.

Each year, the Race for Education is an important cause across our schools. Last Friday, Twin Valley Elementary Center hosted theirs, raising over $24,000 to support our students. Together, they ran more than 900 miles, with some students reaching over 4 miles individually. We are so proud of their effort and spirit!

Summer may be over, but our Honey Brook Elementary Center 4th graders are still making a splash!
Students kicked off their swim safety lessons on September 11 at Tel Hai Retirement Community, learning important skills like safe water entry and exit, kicking techniques, and buoyancy. Each student will have the chance to attend three more sessions as they build confidence and stay water-safe year-round.

Zachary has excelled both academically and athletically, balancing AP and honors courses with his dedication to football, track and field, and volunteer service. A member of the National Honor Society, he has earned recognition as an Academic All-Star and lineman of the week, while also pursuing his passion for STEM.
Cecilia has made performance and leadership a hallmark of her high school career. As a talented musician, drum major, and president of the Theatre Arts Club, she has contributed countless hours to the arts, earning recognition as a National Honor Thespian. Her passion for music and theater continues to inspire those around her.
We are proud to celebrate Zachary and Cecilia for their outstanding achievements and leadership within the Twin Valley community.

Don't forget!!!!! Friday, September 19th is Mismatch Day! Find the craziest colors, patterns, and assessories to create a mismatched look to wear to school. We can't wait to see what the students walk in the door wearing! Friday is also a half day with the students dismissing at 12:00.
Picture Day at Robeson Elementary Center is on Tuesday, September 16th. Flyers were sent home with your child on Friday. All students will have their picture taken, but if you are interested in ordering a package of pictures, you can order online or bring the form back with payment on Tuesday. We can't wait to see all the students smiling brightly on Picture Day!
