Robeson Kicks Off Movement to Music Classes
The Robeson Elementary Center music and gym classes will be combining to teach four lessons of Movement to Music. Mrs. Dieffenbach, our music teacher and Miss Wolff, our physical education teacher, will be teaming up to teach music and physical education standards as they combine their classes. Movement to Music classes will begin with a fun warm up of Zumba. Students will also be taught basic square dance calls while given the opportunity to dance with a partner. Younger students will be working on moving to the beat and body control. Fun creative dances, such as the “Hamster Dance” and “Whip and Ney Ney” will be sure to be favorites this year. Fourth grade students will participate in small groups, developing their own collaborative dance. Then they will perform it for the entire school. Students are encouraged to be creative in their own dancing expressions and develop a style comfortable to them.
